When talking about his role as a doctor, besides noting that he can’t imagine a more rewarding job, he also noted that treating veins offers him the opportunity to make a positive change in the lives of his patients.

About MVC

MVC was founded in 2006 by Dr. Ali Meslemani, with the goal being to help patients who suffer from varicose veins. Nowadays, 13 years later, MVC has a total of 12 offices across New York, New Jersey, Michigan, and Texas, and is considered a national leader when it comes to the treatment of spider veins, varicose veins, as well as other venous conditions using cutting-edge and minimally invasive technologies.

Treatment Options

The doctors at the vein centers employ advanced diagnostic and treatment options when approaching vein disorders, such as radiofrequency ablation, ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy, and endovenous laser ablation. The procedures are both safe and painless, and are performed in-office, being covered by most insurance plan and also requiring minimum downtime. The doctors will also work with the patient in order to determine a more personalized treatment plan.

1. Radiofrequency Ablation

This procedure uses radio waves in order to treat the symptoms of varicose vein as well as the underlying cause. RFA requires local anesthesia, and is performed in under an hour with only minor discomfort. A catheter is inserted into the vein that has unhealthy valves, which is used to emit radio waves in order to heat specific areas of the affected vein, thus causing it to close.

2. Endovenous Laser Ablation

This option uses a small optic fiber, which gets inserted directly into the vein, being used to deliver laser light which heats specific parts of the vein causing it to close. The healing process starts almost immediately after the optic fiber is withdrawn, and the closed vein gets reabsorbed into the body. This method is used to treat the small saphenous vein, the greater saphenous vein, and the side branches of the saphenous vein.

3. Sclerotherapy

It is considered to be the gold standard when it comes to treating spider veins as well as smaller varicose veins. The procedure usually takes approximately 10 minutes, and multiple sessions may be required in order to achieve a complete cosmetic result and full clearance of all problem veins. This option employs the use of an injection of a medicated sclerosing solution into the blood vessels which are affected, causing the vein to close-down and get reabsorbed into the body.
